THE MEN OF BILLANCOURT

A documentary film by CAROLINE POCHON

Who were the men of Billancourt? At the dawn of May 68, they are almost 36 000 men working in the Renault factory of Boulogne Billancourt – France’s biggest factory at the time.

Most of these men came from elsewhere: 56 nationalities were co-existing in this mythical place of the French workers struggle and social uprising.

Through this film we hear the last generation of men who worked in the factory. Workers, directors, unionists... From the uprising of May 68 to the closure in 1992, they tale their own story of Billancourt. An industrial and human, social and political story, which crosses France's contemporary History.
